    Poke Bowls – Presented by Bibuta

    Acclaimed sushi chef Billy Tserenbat of Minneapolis restaurant Bibuta (pronounced “bee-BOO-tah”) shows the art of making one of the main dishes of Native Hawaiian cuisine, Poke! Bibuta uses the best and freshest ingredients to create burrito-sized maki rolls, poke bowls and much more.

    KOOL 108 Fly Away Experience

    KOOL 108 will pre-qualify 5 participants on air. Five additional participants will be selected at the show. Play the game and see if you have the lucky ticket!! The winner will receive a 3-night all-inclusive trip for two with air to Hotel Xcaret Riviera Maya in Rivera Maya, Mexico. Rules available at sign up.

    Falafel Eating Contest – Presented by Israel Tourism

    Falafels are a staple dish of Israel, but how fast can you down a platter? The fastest eater will win an incredible trip courtesy of Ed-Ventures, a Minneapolis-based partner of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. Sign up by noon each day at the Star Tribune booth near the show entrance. Eight contestants will be drawn for a chance to compete. Rules available at sign up. Trip will consist of a choice of guaranteed departures for one lucky winner for a minimum of 8 days, with visits to Christian sites, and overall tour value of at least $2,500. Winner is responsible for round-trip airfare.

    Experience the flavor of East African safaris as Kenyan Chef Jojo of Kilimanjaro Catering, Hopkins, MN, delicately mixes aromatic Swahili spices and herbs to make savory coconut-curry beans and Swahili chai tea.

According to the myths, Mate drinking began with the Guarani Tribe as a gift from the Gods, but has since evolved into a very important part of the Gaucho culture and a staple in almost every household across Argentina.
